Sunday Afternoon

written by Clifton J. Williams

I’m lost at sea
Lost somewhere between beauty and misery
But the pride it swells on me
And pushes me further and further away
My love she sits just the same and wonders how it came to be
In such a place so lovely

So what if all these days, they disappear and disintegrate
And everything just falls upon your lap
Would you brush it off, get yourself something to eat, or change that tv screen
Or would you pick it up and put it back

Well I’ve spent the time
But it’s all in my mind
And they say it will come

Just like those days bring the sun
Just like the phone brings that ring or the smile
Yeah, but is it ever gonna be that way like back in those movie days?
On a Sunday Afternoon

Two rooms, two people hide
One love it hits, as it forces a collide
By the ones who’ve weathered
And it clogs my soul, and it clogs your soul
And leaves us down here just covered in these clothes

So what if all these days, they disappear and disintegrate
And everything just falls upon your lap
Would you brush it off, get yourself something to eat, or change that tv screen
Or would pick it up and put it back

Well I’ve spent the time
But it’s all in my mind
And they say it will come

Just like those days bring the sun
Just like the phone brings that ring or the smile
Yeah, but is it ever gonna be that way like back in those movie days?
On a Sunday Afternoon

Where all of these days they hide and they fall
And nothing is what it seems

Just like those days bring the sun
Just like the phone brings that ring or the smile
But is it ever gonna be that way like back in those movie days?
On a Sunday Afternoon
