Feel the Weight

written by Clifton J. Williams

Ancient Times, surrounding me
Awaiting my and your destiny
Climbing the walls, carved stones and figurines
Colors fill in the gaps, and re-write the history
I wonder if when they dig up these bones
Will they find a story to tell?

I can feel the weight of these days
Pulling me down, crippling my moves
We carry the burden of our wayss
And time only tells the truth
I can feel the weight

Beneath these leaves, lies the hidden land
Stone by stone, brick by brick built by idol hands
Dust away the dirt you’ll uncover this mystery
Four days deep lies the story of the lost city
I wonder if when they re-build these times
Will they find a place to hold on to?

I can feel the weight of these days
Pulling me down, crippling my moves
We carry the burden of our ways
And time only tells the truth
I can feel the weight

Look from the dust we’ve kicked up,
no longer can we see our own way
And from all this pain we’re watching,
no longer can we feel our own days
But I will, yes I will
I will do everything I can, sing it my friend
I will, I will
I will
Yes I will

I can feel the weight of these days
Pulling me down, crippling my moves
We carry the burden of our ways
And time only tells the truth
I can feel the weight
